Yes, they were from my flock. I always collect my eggs and refrigerate them. Now they're only in there a couple of days. Hatch rates are about the same as non-refrigerated. At least that's my experience, your results may vary.

I'm not sure I would see anything quite so soon. From what I've read and saw with the last broody, you can start to see the embryo around day 3 (but I'm dealing with green and brown eggs :he). Veins a day or so later. Last go round by day 7, I could see the little moving.

I spent 5 minutes this morning frantically searching for one of my splash chicks. I counted over and over again and only came up with 4. There were supposed to be 5?!!? Where the heck could it have gone?!!? Searched every nook and cranny, but couldn't find that little ANYWHERE!

They others were gathered around their feeder .. counted heads one more time. 9 babies .. correct number .. immediately felt like a dofus. There's 5 BLUES, and 4 splash, not the other way around.
