Mama Opal came out to eat when I brought her food this morning. Able to peek in and two pipped eggs!! Babies coming soon!!

She ate a few bites and went straight back to cover the littles Good mama.

My hubs worked with peeps who DID successfully hatch STORE bought refrigerator eggs from Trader Joes. Hatch rate was low, but as said... who knew they could even be fertile or also how old they were since store eggs can be shipped back and regraded.

Yes, I also can't count chicks and frantically look for ones that don't even exist on occasion.

Two hatched and all others pipped. I wanna wait until F1 makes it all the way out before I call operation fridge eggs a success.

It did! I recall thinking when we set her on the clutch it was gonna be a looooonnnggg three weeks. Then Tuesday, I realized it just a couple more days. Been dealing with a sick DD so I wasn't exactly focused on the birds.

All 5 are here! Two splash, three blue. Pretty confident already the last to hatch is a cockerel. Already has black spots in the down like the previous early showing cockerel from the last batch.
