To the person who dumped 40 pekins on the side of the road..

First I just have to say .. THANK YOU.. So many people would have just driven by and left it to someone else to deal with.. I hope you find some great homes for them.... Many Blessings to you and all who helped you get them to safety

I also wish i was closer, i could take at least half of them off your hands, we defiitely have the property. Very wonderful you you guys to take them ALL in. I am sure there is plenty of people around you that would love to have some good egg layers/pets...pekins are pretty good layers aren't they?

If I hadn't seen similar stories involveing animals here I would never have believed it. The fact that the authorities refused to help doesn't surprise me either. Perhaps the folks who dumped them asked for the same help you did and when they got no offers to help decided it was the only way to deal with it. Maybe figured they'd force the authories hand to help.

I've called around for stray cats and the shelters refuse to help. I've driven 30 minutes to a shelter for a kitten that got dumped.

It is sad and an unfortunate state of affairs.

Hope you do ok and find like minded people.

What an irresponsible jerk.. Surely there is something that can be done to the person that dumped those animals. How did they seriously think that many ducks could survive after being dumped with out some kind of human help.

The selfish, thoughtless and cruel behaviour of some humans never ceases to amaze me.

Did you notify any authorities of where the birds came from?...the cops saw them out there and know they were dumped...the owners admitted to you what they'd done...........

I agree, notify every authority you can until those people get reprimanded! About all I can say is bless you for stepping in and helping those poor birds. I just don't know what this world is coming to. I have recently been basically forced into two rescue situations in the last couple of months, but nothing like this! The birds I took in were literally starved half to death, most of them Indian Runners some of which only weighed about 2 pounds. Thank God the situation I was faced with wasn't 40 Pekins either or else I don't know what I would have (or could have) done. My hat is off to you. Good luck with finding them homes and again, you really deserve to be majorly commended for saving them.

I am so thankful those ducks had someone like you find them and take them in. Something needs to be done to that idiot who dumped them, he can't just get away with that. I don't know if the law or animal control would bother doing anything, but I hope they will.

What a great person you are to do that.......I hope those ducks know how lucky they are!

Just wanted to mention that if you need to transport some of your duckies to new homes we can try to get the Egg Train working for you.

You did a good thing. We're all proud of all of you.

So what's going to happen to the trucker? Nothing?
