Thanks everyone! The ducks were waiting for us to let them out - quacking up a storm! All I had to do was open the door and shake their food bucket before I had 50 ducks trying to knock me over for food. I'm sure if I tasted to their liking, they would've eaten me too. After setting the record for scarfing down 10 pounds of food (literally in less than a minute), they followed me around, cursing me for not having more. Then, they got bored and began the morning wing flap, which is an impressive thing to watch! They can't fly, but they certainly can run around and pretend they're airplanes. About half of them were zooming around, wings outstretched. It was super cute!

Parrotchick - Please keep us updated on your three! So sorry about the gender - I am clueless about ducks.

I can just imagine those three acting similar to my goose, wondering why no one loves them! Your other ducks sound so funny. I can't wait to hear more about the crew.

Oh my, I can't imagine what a big heart you must have to take this on. I only have 5 and they make me nuts with the mess they make!!

I'm in NY and willing to help out in the moving of ducks if necessary since I can't take any. I will check out the link someone posted but let me know if you need help moving them.

That picture of them in the back of the SUV is pricesless, I'm going to send it to my non duck loving friends LOL

If the egg (duck) train ever comes through colorado I would love to help out (provided its on my day off) and I would be more than willing to take two or three ducks off of your hands! I've never really wanted Pekins, but these sound like good starter ducks

And even if I don't get any ducks out of it, would still be willing to help with transport!

OMG...I was just reading the post I was thinking little quackers..not that size..You and your mom have a heart of gold. You know that's exactly why there is a ban on the Muscovies now, because of ignorance..ppl. getting these things and then going well i can't keep them anymore. To me, once you get something it is yours to keep and take care of..if you can't manage..make sure it goes to a good home. I have really been down to my last 20.00 before payday and thought about buying something for my self and then remembered ..wait my chickens need a bag of pellets and got it for them. that is how I was raised..and besides I keep my pantries and freezers stocked so it wasn't like I was going to starve....so with that being said..it is not fair for you to have to foot the bill for all those extra mouths....p.m. me so I can get your address and send you some money for food.

If I were close by to you I would come out and do the pullorum test for you on these for free so you could sell them at a swap or larger venue and be good to go with the necessary paperwork. Wish I wasn't so far away! Good on you for saving them!

well the carelessness of the person who left them angers me and I cannot believe that DNR didnt give them a BIG FAT FINE! I surely would love a couple of those duckies, a male and a couple females would be amazing but I live in GA so unless you wanted to A Mail them or B take a road trip that is impossible. Though if I were your mother I would have showed up at those peoples door with a 12 ga loaded with AA buck shot, and that Bull Mastiff would be kissing lead if it came near me. Some people are just not meant to have animals!
