Noticed one of my silkies limping today, we have had a horribly muddy week with over 40mm of rain. I’ve had a suggestion of scaly leg so I’ve posted pictures of my other girls legs for opinions.

My main concern is how do I help my poor girls nail. It’s still attached and does not move it’s just completely bent forward. She is eating drinking and waddling around

I see those with SLM.

You can either use Vaseline: go in coop at night and slather their feet with it well. Do that every two or three days over a week and a half (10 days) or so.

Or Ivermectin 5% Pour on: Again, at night while they are roosting, put a drop (or two if they are larger chickens) on their neck at the base of their back. Spread their feathers so it gets on their skin. Repeat in 10 days. There is a two week egg withdrawal, but my hubby ignores it.

For the toenail, if she were mine, I'd take side cutters like wire cutters type tool and snip the end off so it doesn't get caught on so much. I had one with a broken toe hanging limply from apparently getting caught in something unknown. It took about two weeks and it fell off leaving no open skin; it had healed itself.
