Toulouse Geese Thread

I have a lead on 2 2 month old toulouse goslings dont know the sexes but can anyone tell me at this age are they usually fully feathered or still fuzzy. Or half and half? What do they look like? Will they need a brooder light still? Im waiting for the person to send me some pictures that will tell me a lot but at the moment im not sure. Im just so excited!

Oh, they are fully feathered at that age, with just some residual fluff on their necks. No brooder necessary; they are almost full sized at that age. Honest.

I will go to my computer and post the pictures I JUST took of my three "goslings" hatched on May 22 and 23.
Be back in a bit with the photos.

Now, some photos taken a few days ago, when the girls were swimming with Caleb, the 2 year old gander. His bill is bright orange.

Thank you for responding! Its been awhile since ive had geese! Yours are gorgeous!! Im losing hope though the persob hasnt gotten back to me yet he was supposed to send me pics last night and never did. :'( guess if it doesnt work out i will just have to keep looking and waiting. Saves me some gas i guess was going to drive about and hour and a half to get them in over 100 degree heat! Not ideal for anyone involve goose or human!

Such cute pictures!
Do the bill colors range from bird to bird?does it change as they get older? Trina h's a very dull bill color.

These girls started out with grey bills and they are slowly orange-ing up.

Both Caleb and Angus have orange bills; Caleb also has orange "eyeliner" - eyelids are orange. For a time, that was the only way I could tell Angus and Caleb apart when they weren't near each other for comparison. Caleb also has a slightly different slope to his bill....

Angus has started hanging with the Caleb and the girls a bit more. Caleb is also letting the girls wander around without him so much, but he keeps an eye on 'em.

How cool! I wonder if Trina will orange up. she's getting so big! She is starting to follow me around again. she's also a lot more confident on get own, climbing over things and jumping up onto things simply for exploration. Have to work on her people food stealing though, naughty girl!

How'd you get a volunteer peacock?

Ahh, Kevin (named for the "snipe" Kevin in the animated movie "UP!") just showed up on my property a couple of weeks ago. The day before, one of my neighbors asked across the fence if I had seen the peacock... Where? In her driveway, earlier. Nope. I have never wanted peacocks because of the blood-curdling screams....

The next evening, he was in my yard. He has since made himself quite at home. No screaming yet, just a few barks. He "talks" to me and now runs with the flock when they see me and all come running to greet me. He has ALMOST eaten out of my hand. I can walk by him now and he won't sidle away.

Folks on the NorCal thread say he is about a year old. (I posted a couple of pictures there.)

I am becoming quite fond of him.
