What you want to do is crush enough Brewers yeast tabs to make a tablespoon then add it to her feed unless you think she is drinking enough water to get the whole Tablespoon. Most of us add to feed sprinkle over top If you give what is recc you can't over dose. this is for each cup of feed she eats. Actually any goslings /ducklings should have BY if being fed feed formulated for chickens there isn't enough niacin in it that they need. She tries to get up and can only manage a brief low waddle. Looked her over n no swelling. Toes kinda curling. Eatung and drinking. Can I give her too much since its a water soluble vitamin? Crushed 1 tap in her 1/4 cup little bowl.
They usually rebound pretty fast. sometimes in less than a week. When you felt her legs did they feel like there was extra heat or any swelling and did they come with leg bands? and did you take them off?Ok well I will continue feeding and keep u posted. Wish I had known this. Golly. Hope she gets better.
She hatched in my incubator last friday.. No swelling. She us picking at her own back though and is still chatting. I have given her grass each day and taken her outside to walk andvforage a bit . I incubated her cause egg was kicked out . No other babies. I dint eant tollose her as she might be my only 1 this year.
This is what i did last year when my goose lost her only gosling that tried to hatch, after i took her egg on Sunday morning Her and I both were broken hearted, so i set about looking for a gosling for her and the gander, I of course was able to find 2-2 day old gosling only wanted one but how can you resist right? lol anyway for a week after Missy [my famale lost her gosling she would not come out of her house and the gander stayed by her side. So what i would do is take the goslings out and walk past where Missy was sitting she was not interested at all. then we'd go out and I'd sit not too far away from her house where she could see out the door, it took about a week before she got up and actually came out to see the gosling face to face. They of course were stuck to me. But everyday for 3 weeks we would go out and walk around and the geese would get more curious till by the 3rd week Missy and Sam both were following us around, Sam my gander was no near as receptive towards the goslings at first it wasn't until Missy got interested that he did. At 3 weeks and seeing the adults really interested now and the gosling not near as afraid, I put the gosling in the hosue with them for the night, when i went out to check later right before dark one of the gosling was already snuggled up to Missy, they have been one family since and now i have 2 pair because those 2 gosling turned out to be male female. It does take time but if you go about it slowly i think they will take to Dixie, but that means you may have to give her up.Just a little note on little Dixie. She is back to normal and is chasing us about again. growing like a weed. You all prolly saved her life. Thankful for your help.
In other news I would love for my momma goose to adopt her, but my gander seems aggressive toward her. I took mommas eggs on sat as she had been sitting for 45 days. All were rotten and she is just today accepting the loss. She stayed in her house standing in the corner. I put baby in with her apart from the gander and she wasnt aggressive, just disinterested. And since baby likes me best she just cried at the door for 45 minutes. How can I best facilitate this relationship?
