I have a Toulouse goose who is foaming out his eyes, diarrhea, throwing up, and is very weak but still drinking. Google doesn’t help much with diagnosing him so figured I would check here!! I did have some corid on hand and gave him a little of that in his water hoping it might help!

Welcome to BYC. I’m not that familiar with geese, but there is a geese forum here as well that you may also want to post on. Foamy eyes can be a sign of a respiratory sinus infection such as MG or CRD. That can be treated with antibiotics such as Tylosin or Denagard in the water. Those may be found online. MG is chronic and never cured, but symptoms may go away. Throwing up is abnormal. Diarrhea can be due to drinking an excess of water, crop problems, or infections. I would offer some electrolytes in his water, or a cup of water with a tsp of sugar and a tiny pinch of salt, to help his weakness. Hopefully geese owners will offer suggestions. Here is where to post on the Geese forum in the green box:

Thank you!! I posted there also!

will my other geese get that too if that’s what it is? I think this one might be too far gone to save and unfortunately no vets around here see birds…

Have you added any new birds to your flock, including chickens, ducks, or others that could have been a carrier? It could affect others, but some may be able to fight it off, and not become symptomatic, although if one has it, they all would be considered carriers. If you lose this one, you could have your state vet do a necropsy or testing to see if it is really MG. Here is a list of state vet labs to contact:

Corid treats coccidiosis, but not respiratory disease. Do you have a farm vet or regular vet who could offer help?

Our vets in my area don’t treat any birds. I only have 9 geese and I got all together early spring this year, the rest seem fine. He just started this yesterday and has went downhill really fast.
