I found some similar eggs and stuck them under my broody BA. 4 looked good at day 7 but she kicked 2 out. Of the 2 that are left, one is brown and one is olivey green. Can't wait to see the babies..in 1 more week!

Rest overnight the day you get them, pointy end down, and set them the next day. Woo hoo!!

Thank you gryeyes

Now when I put them in the incubator which way do I put them in the egg turner. Pointy side down or pointy side up? Thanks

ALWAYS pointy side down, big end up. I even put eating eggs in cartons that way.

I'm in too! We just bought an LG because our Red Bourbon Turkey hens are starting to lay, so when DH went into town today I had hime stop at Vitamin Cottage/Natural Grocers to see about eggs. He and I were both shocked that they had fertilized eggs! So tomorrow we'll be starting 3 turkey eggs (hopefully 4 by then) and 12 of the store bought eggs!
Hopefully I get the hang of this quick because in 3 weeks, I have to start over in my classroom. (I'm a first year, 1st grade teacher) I'm already thinking we should buy or make another unit! (already hooked and haven't even started!)

got us thinking about hatching our own.

Ok so I received my 'fertile eggs' in the mail yesterday that my friend sent me from PA. I have 13 other eggs I want to hatch with them. I am letting them set until I get off work and can be home to make sure there are no temp spikes or humidity issues.

I am scared and excited all in one.

I pray this goes smooth and I don't mess them up. Or else my daughter will not do so well on her Science project.

Good Luck everybody else that are settin eggs soon.

Ok so I set the 1 dozen "fertile" store bought eggs along with my 13 eggs from my chickens. I discovered that several of the store bought eggs had some dirt on them so maybe they weren't washed and sanitized. So I am hoping for at least half of them to hatch.

My humidity is holding steady at 34% and my temp is just a touch above 99.5.

I don't know if I will ever make it to lockdown. lol
