Treating Tapeworms - Under Construction

This is amazing!! Thank you so much!!
The small, medium and large are for the size of the chicken, right? so the Medium size should be safe for them. Here is the picture of my flock. The white EE ( when I carry her she feels always light) she is the one for sure has the tapeworm, I saw her pooping a dropping full of the tapes.
Thank you again, you have not idea... this is so helpful.

The density of paste is similar to water, so you can treat the paste as you would water.

Equimax is 140.3 mg per ml praziquantel and 18.7 mg/ml ivermectin.
The chicken praziquantel dose is 10 mg/kg.

Imagine the tube below is Equimax (sorry, only tube I had wa just plain ivermectin)
From left to right:
Small = 0.1 ml = 1.87 mg ivermectin & 14.3 mg praziquantel
Medium = 0.25 ml = 4.675 mg ivermectin & 35.075 mg praziquantel
Large = 0.5 ml = 9.35 mg ivermectin & 70.15 mg praziquantel

The blob next to the grain of rice is 0.025ml = 0.4675 mg ivermectin & 3.5 mg praziquantel

Piperazine was approved for laying hens, but isn't any longer. It will kill some roundworms, but that's all it does. Fenbendazole is a much better choice if worming is needed, except for those tapeworm species it doesn't kill. Trying to dose down from an equine paste wormer is so tricky! I think it makes much more sense to get the liquid form, made for dogs and cats, and figure out the correct amount for your birds. It's available at farm stores, and your veterinarian might sell some too.

I called directly Wazine and the person there told me, it was ok to use Wazine with 2 weeks of withdraw and then to follow 10 days later with another dewormer, like safeguard. Then I read the info on Wazine from FDA and shows like nothing dangerous because humans also use the same drug. I also read that in many countries is tested and is used... But So many people say that wazine stays in the eggs for life so I am still worry. I used it once 6 months ago and now I am not sure if I should eat or sale my eggs! What are you thoughts?

The medium size should be safe, but it's more than you need to give.

Rules and recommendations change over time, and it's confusing. Piperazine really isn't a big deal, except that it does very little, so using it doesn't make a lot of sense now that it's off the approved list.
Managing livestock (and chickens are considered livestock, regardless of breed or lifestyle) is not the same as managing pets, or using meds ourselves. One of the reasons many of us raise our own eggs and meat, is that we want to know what goes into those eggs and that meat. We'd be very upset to learn that some commercial facility was using products off-limits for the birds, and should be careful ourselves.
However, don't worry about that piperazine six months ago! Really, it's not an issue for you.

I use wazine in my birds on occasion and we eat the eggs the next day and thereafter. I've been using wazine for many years and I'm still here.
You are correct, it is also used as a wormer in humans, and I'm sure those folks are still here. It's better than having a bellyful of worms causing havoc in the human body.

As far as selling and giving away the eggs, I'd wait 14 days. Then inform the sellers and people you're giving the eggs to, that your hens were wormed with piperazine 14 days earlier. Then, those folks can decide whether or not to eat the eggs.
You dont know if someone might be allergic or have a sensitivity to piperazine residue in eggs, however slight the residue might be. This way, you're being up front and honest with them.

Hello again! (sorry)

OK, I treated everyone (4 hens and a roo) with WAZINE over 40 days ago and a repeat treatment 10 days later, because you put it in the water, you never know how much they are getting.... I was waiting for 30 days egg withdraw when I found Tapeworms too! So, today I got Equimax and I am getting ready to treat all for that but then... Just a minute ago I found a poop with a round worm!!! ( I am posting pictures of roundworm from today's drooping and picture of the Tapeworom from 3 days ago)

- What should I do? Equimax only or something more?

Also, I am sharing 2 photos of the same (both sides) weird thing I found 10 days ago on the nesting box, I think it is coming from my Australorp because she haven't lay an egg since I found that.

- Do you know what that stuff is?

All of this happened right after I found a huge rat snake leaving under the straw where the girls seats to lay! the girls got so scare it is taking time for them to get back to lay on that spot. (I clean everything after removal of the snake but a day later is when I found that weird thing).

And finally I am sharing a picture of this girls, I rescue her like 8 month ago and she already looks like this, a lot of her feathers were gone. I gave her extra protein thinking she was molting or maybe she was very old but she is the best layer, she lays every single day a big egg (I weigh her yesterday and she is 5 Lb) but I read it could be because of worms? I gave her a bath yesterday to clean her vent because it was very dirty with dry poop and add a little dress/protector because the roo loves her...
Every single hen beside this one, looks great full feathered. All are active, eating, drinking and having fun free range all day. Eating good stuff, daily clean water, daily clean coop... I don't know what to do to be over this worms stuff I have being dealing since day 1. I am new as a chicken mom (just over a year) but I am putting a lot of time to make sure my girls are healthy and I like to do it right so they have a happy life and we can have healthy eggs...

- What do you think about her bald butt?

The Equimax should treat both the roundworms and the tapes.
- YEAHHHH!!!

That nasty looking blob looks like maybe one of your hens could have a reproduction tract infection.
If it is a reproduction tract infection, what can I do?
I am not 100% sure who dropped that blob, I am guessing my australorp because she just stop laying the day I found that and that day she was acting different, like she was seating away from everyone and not eating much (usually she runs to me when she sees me coming with food but not that day, she was under a tree resting, 3-4 hours later she started to look back to normal, eating, running etc She stopped laying even though she goes to the box to try but, nothing. I am pretty sure that thing comes from her but I can't be 100% sure. What should I do? She is not laying but she looks perfectly fine. I though maybe stress because of the rat snake (it was a huge snake under her... waiting for eggs... it was scary looking)

You are amazing, thank you for all of your help!:hugs:bow
