We rescued ducks from a dumpster and warm hugs along with a heated small space helped calm them down and eat after a couple of days.

I think it would affect a lot of people if they looked into the conditions meat birds and egg layers are kept in. Most people have no idea. And Ive had people turn their noses up at eating fresh eggs Ive offered them! No thank you, they like their eggs to come from the store like they are supposed to. LOL

Yes, most people are ignorant (meaning uninformed) as to what really goes on to get food from the farm to their table. It is hard to see the truth.

I am so glad to have some girls laying eggs for us.

Lol I think so, too. Until a few years ago, I grew up around and knew just about every animal I ate! The differences are astounding in quality/taste between home raised and small farm raised meat/eggs and factory. Seeing how Sebastian looked, I can tell why now for sure!

Whelp good news and bad news on the Sebastian front.

The good news is my little buddy is safe from predators and bad weather for the time being! (A heat lamp was added after the picture was taken)

The bad news is that I got a better look at his wounds, after administering his pain meds.

Honestly everything else looks fairly okay except for his underneath his tail. I think this must be where he hit the pavement. I took a close look and there were tiny maggots/worms crawling around in there. I sprayed it with the Vetranix wound care (or however you spell it) as best as I could. What else should I do? Will the maggots survive that or will it kill them? Will they eat away any dead/diseased flesh and maybe be a good thing? Oh god is he dying?
