Good point. Make a little corral of hay or straw bales maybe? He could see over I think but would know there's nowhere to go. Given that he's nearly 50lbs I think it would be hard to build anything strong enough to keep him from knocking it over. Physical barrier could solve that. But I know nothing about turkeys.

"My turkey hen had a really bad injury on her side last summer and we didn't find it until well after the flies had.We cleaned it up with dish soap and water in a squirt bottle, applied Swat to get the maggots out ( and they practically threw themselves off after the Swat was put on), we then used iodine in a spray bottle and spayed it everyday, then we would apply triple antibiotic every other day, we also gave her an oral antibiotic mixed up in scrambled eggs everyday. She healed up good as new, she is almost 10 now and is a pet.

I was thinking of something similar to a walker / bouncer for a baby, wide base w/ something to keep him from falling out. I'd still keep an eye on him for a bit to see how he reacts. Right now he may be too large and/ or weak to move much, but once he is feeling better that may change.
