The only thing that could go wrong with this would be my DW's failure to mark the right numbers on the form. I have told her screwing this up will have consequences.



I am considering it right now. I will be asking the magic 8 ball shortly if you are a good risk, last time I asked it, it said "doubtful, try later".



Now back on the topic of turkeys, I normally have one turkey hen that spends her nights inside the coop with the chickens, That hen is Ethel, yes, the one I want to take on vacation to Australia...


Tonight it is so bitterly cold here in Minnesota I am having a "Three Turkey Night" I have Ethel and two other hens inside tonight. The hens are smart enough in the cold to come inside, the Jakes not so smart.

My turkeys (and chickens) invite themselves in any time the door doesn't get closed quickly enough. I chase more chickens inside the house than I ever do outside...lol

She did fill the form out incorrectly!

I am so upset with her. I even asked her this morning at our coffee hour, How she could screw up something as simple as marking the correct 6 numbers.. I did not press too hard though, she was so upset when I said this she accidentally spilled her coffee in my lap, poor girl!

I am sure she will get it right the next time we decide to buy a ticket.

What do you feed your turkeys to get them to lay? I have been giving mine chicken layer. I guess it is not good for them? The weather has been great down here in Georgia and I thought mine would be laying by now. Both hens are 2 years old.

I feed mine chicken layer pellets and they lay just fine. I do on occasion supplement them with a high protein feed and also give them free choice oyster shell. During laying season I get almost an egg a day from each hen from Spring-Fall. Here up North my turkeys generally start about late march-ish.

Adding oyster shell & protein will help. You can even toss some tuna, salmon or beans to them for extra protein treats.
