Turkey Talk for 2014

This is the lake, flooding my run.

Standing inside my run.

Just outside my run. The coop wasn't flooded this morning, but with all the runoff and more rain coming, it will flood. The houses are safe. Roads to the north and south are closed due to water over the bridges. We can go west for a ways. East is still open. We're supposed to get dry weather next week. Counting my blessings. 27 dead and 13 missing. Hundreds of homes swept away or flooded. Hard to believe all of the lakes were so low, some 20 feet, just a month ago.

Yikes! Wish we could share some of that water, it is so dry here in Arizona. I hope you have enough feed on hand for the birds. I always worry about that when people can't get places due to flooding. Stay safe

Last night we had some bad storms come through and take the cover off my Bourbon Red pen with my two hens sitting on a clutch of eggs. Now I have no idea if the eggs will hatch. Both the hens are soaking wet and I know the rain had to have made it into the nest and got the eggs wet.

Oh goodness.. Hopefully all is well, it must happen in the wild a lot...
