U know it is WINTER when your CHICKENS "AND" ____ are...

You know it is winter when you have to duck tape your snowpants to your boots so you don't get snow in them as you're wading through knee/waist deep snow... and you know it is winter when your ducks get stuck in the snowdrifts.
Doesn't the duct tape add an additional 5 minutes to get ready to go outside bringing it to a grand total of 20 minutes?:confused:

when you are happy to get ONE egg a day AND it's NOT FROZEN.

Nah. I leave it on; takes me less than 5 minutes to get ready. I have prep time down to an art form.

You know it's winter when you can look at your picnic table and see layers on the edges that correspond to various blizzards. "See that thar bottom line? That was the December blizzard. A right tough one it was; there was only one pack of beer left on the store shelf. Next couple were all ten packers; not near so bad."

You need to Implement a secret password knock before you open the door!:gig

You mean walking up to the door and saying, "Good morning, girls!" with all the love I can muster up past the freezing cold isn't enough? :lol:

Well, not to brag or anything, but I'm up to 4 a day now thanks to the pullets, and if I'm lucky the broody Silkies will keep half of them from freezing and splitting open before I get to them. :yesss:

You know it is winter when I did nothing for the last 2 hours except run the battery out in my tablet.
:confused::idunno:oops:

Hahaha... guilty. :oops:

You know it's winter when you go to do morning chicken chores and the waterer froze over and you have to run to the building to check the gfci outlet and then run into the house to bring out a kettle of water to start the thawing process all before you head off to work.
