I just spent more time looking as the Kent site. It is strange that they don't have a list of where local dealers are located. We have a grain mill/ feed store that carries their products here in Michigan. But I only know that because I have seen the sign at the store. Ain't no thing, glad to be able to give back for a change. They are just introducing the Home fresh line of feed. I think it's the same as the old with new packaging but can't say for sure.

At first I thought this was a different company, but the NutriVantage is the same as the Blue Seal. They have the home company for Blue Seal listed as Kent Nutrition Group, Inc.. I think it's the same just different pakaging and marketing. Not sure though.

Okay, called Shur-Gain. You're absolutely right. The New York plant makes and distributes cattle feeds, no poultry at all. The Canadian grain is available in New England only and that is imported from Quebec. If you were close enough I could see making the trip. Unfortunately Miss Lydia, I'd say it wouldn't be a likely thing for you. That stinks! If gas were cheaper, I could load up the truck and meet you half way. Perfect oppurtunity to get away for a while and not have to cook supper! Lol, in my dreams! sorry, I really had hoped this would work out for everyone. I know of a few people who are using it here and they have no complaints with it at all. Poultry, pig and cattle feeds are the ones they are using and I trust their judgement.

I have been on the phone this morning with Purina. Our rep for our area says they have had in place for years as standard practice to test for and reject loads with too high % of aflatoxin as well as rejecting loads with off protein levels. He is going to research the news on the FDA approving higher levels and send me a follow up email.

Well that sounds encouraging. If you can get the %-ages they use as a baseline that would be exquisite. And what I want to write rather than have you read between the lines: thank you very very much.

I asked him for a detailed report back on their guidelines and explained we are feeding the entire farm purina products and want an on going communication based on nutrition and needs. He was excited to discuss and said he would be in touch via email in a few days. (he is on the road currently) I have to say, I have the BEST feed store (who delivers to us every other week!). As soon as I mentioned this he called our rep, who called me back within 30 minutes.
