Ugh, Bumblefoot…

Blu-Kote isn't going to hurt anything, but I would leave it off. The dye makes it really hard to see what the tissue looks like, and you will want to be seeing that to tell if you need to clean it out more, and how it's healing. I would just use the plain neosporin and wrap it well. Some bumbles will have a core, some will not, every foot is a bit different.

I was iffy about the blu-kote for that reason. The inside of her foot was hollow after I removed the plug. Like literally a swollen hole. I’m hoping there wasn’t a kernel in there?

I’ll snag some photos when I clean her this evening. I put blu-kote on her cause I didn’t have anything else. Hope that was okay. That and regular Neosporin.

I agree, the Blu Kote won't hurt anything - it's actually pretty good stuff for certain things. I use sometimes, but it is hard to see what's going on after you and the chicken are wearing it 🤣

Look forward to the photos!

I got some on my porch with my first chicken. White porch, mind you. I tried using rubbing alcohol and soap to get it off and it faded but is still there. 🙄

I know you may not think it's funny, but it is
It has staying power anyway! That's really the reason I don't use it more...that Blue!
It took a few weeks to wear off no matter what I tried🤣

What can I use to clean out the foot? Well…providing I’m able to see it after painting it lol.

I don't really know. Have you tried a magic eraser? I'd just try it on a small spot just in case it damages paint.
So… The blu-kote actually faded enough where I could see the wound when I went to change the bandage. The swelling has gone down a little and now there is another scab. I picked some of the scab off and this time there was blood that came out instead of just a hole. Think that is a good sign? I re-treated it with Neosporin and left the scab on there.
