Hi there! :frow
I'm not a duck expert personally but I imagine they'd come back once they knew where 'home' was.
Why not go into the duck section for a chat with them? Theyll have some great advice. Here's a link to it:

Hi :)

Our friends ducks escape from their garden into the canal, which is on other side of the wall and they return home every evening. You should probally keep them confined to your garden, until they learn where their home is, before letting them into the canal.

I left it over night the other 2 I can hear noise and movement from inside but the one with the crack still.on same position do u think I should spray a tiny bit of water on them when she next gets off or just leave as for other one I'm wondering if it has been cracked by one of the others as they kept sneaking up she had one pinned by the throat yesterday hence why have moved her I'm pretty sure I think it's dead do I leave it or as u say unzip if dead then dispose of it. Sorry for all u pros that think these questions are lame but i am so new to eggs hatching .

Can you post a pic of the crack? Here are pics of a pip and then a zip ~

Hi & welcome! You are not interrupting we love having new members! Sorry but I don't keep Ducks.

Hi from the UK!!!

Hi everyone

Not been on here for quite a while.

Am from Bolton, near Manchester and have just gone through my first year of chicken keeping and love it.

Happy Bank holiday :yesss:

Hi again Paula! Long time no see, hope you are well and have a fab bank holiday :)

That's so exciting!! I love that peeping sound!
So have you raised humidity now then? I'm told its different to chickens and you should wait for an external pip. Is that what you do? The hatching part of this terrifies me because it seems you often have to help them?
I'm sending good hatching vibes your way...:fl

Yes I have the humidity at 70% at the moment. I put it up to 50% at lockdown then when I saw the pips I put it up more. Yes the hatching part is the worst, I'm hoping these hatch as easily as the last ones!

They are well trained!

@rebrascora

Hope you are all ok up there? Good news here, I finally got Harry on some good grass :yesss: He is desperate for some meat on him and I hope this dr grass works :fl
He has stolen some of his girlfriends grass in the next field as she is fat as a pig and on a diet so rather than it going to seed Harry is chomping it off.

Anyone on here cull their birds? I have a button quail chick who has spayed leg and curled toes I've tried everything but they are so tiny nothing works  I've never culled anything before I'm really worrying about it as I'm a massive animal lover I just don't know what else I can do :hit

Oh no I'm so very sorry :hugs
It is always hard to make that decision and its not one anyone makes lightly. But when you know it's time, it's time for it to be done. For small chicks I do the gassing method ~ http://www.waldeneffect.org/how_to_cull_chicks/
It's always worked well for me and been peaceful.
