So it looks like you will have a group of 3 ybs to settle, that should work out ok.
My first group was just 3 also.

My first group was just 3 also.I think boomer enjoys the single life! I think she still hopes for the missing male to return.I'm surprised one of your cockbirds isn't wooing Boomer. 2 males in my loft covered all 6 hens.![]()
When I first let the ybs out should they be alone? If I let boomer out she doesn't hang around, she's a goner! So I don't want the littlies to try and follow.I let my three out alone. I didn't want them to try and follow a strong flyer. They will probably stay very close to the loft as they try out their wings. About 2 weeks later I began letting my original adult birds out. So yes I would say - alone.I think boomer enjoys the single life! I think she still hopes for the missing male to return. When I first let the ybs out should they be alone? OK. Im still wondering whether to let any of the other adults out yet. I have one pair that is sat on three eggs! She had two and a fake egg and I took the fake one out so she layed another! I think they could raise three, but if the 3rd one is more than a day or two behind the others i would replace it with the fake as it probably won't live if it hatches after the others by more than 24 hours. jmoOK. I cant really take the third out as I'm not sure which one it is. I think I'm just going to have to hope and will this one through. If all else fails you can give me tips on hand feeding!I think they could raise three, but if the 3rd one is more than a day or two behind the others i would replace it with the fake as it probably won't live if it hatches after the others by more than 24 hours. jmo
Eta Funny how they differ as individuals...evidently her mental image of the proper clutch size is 3 not 2!
Very reasonable choice also!I cant really take the third out as I'm not sure which one it is. I think I'm just going to have to hope and will this one through. If all else fails you can give me tips on hand feeding!
I'm guessing 3-4 days.Very reasonable choice also!
How far is it behind the others?

for this type of injury is newsprint which would be very good. But the manuka honey could actually be better
I'm not clever about auto correct. I remember thinking 'Newsprint? that's an odd home remedy I've not heard of'
Anyhow, I tend not to use ointments like that on wounds. Given the need I would try honey also.
