I think it will absorb the fluid pretty quickly and dry up. The baby sock could work well to keep it from rubbing on anything, once it gets to moving around a lot.

When you have a burn blister it’s important to keep it moist both so the outer skin doesn’t dry out and split , but also because it covers nerves and prevents pain.
Maybe spray it and wrap with a little strip of Saran wrap? The kind that sticks to itself.
VCO = Coconut oil?I would do what you're doing and keep the area moist. Even just a dab of VCO so the skin doesn't dry and crack while it tries to reabsorb.
