WAY TO GO!! U DID IT!! Praying Big P makes a full recovery!!

Good job!!

I think food today is a good idea, just keep everything soft with lots of fluid for healing. The crop won't be able to grind very well for a week or two. If you can contact a vet and get some meloxicam (aka metacam for pain relief, anti-inflammatory) and antibiotic (injectable would be best, like enrofloxacin) that will increase your chances of a successful recovery. Small animal vets would have both those, maybe one would help you for not much $$ once they hear that you are a chicken surgeon!

glad to hear she's better, I would feed her something soft... such as yogurt, or maybe even mash. Something that can go through her crop easily since it's still healing. Heck, she might not even be hungry. But she will definately be in a little bit of pain when she starts eating because her crop is still sore and healing... and that will cause her pain. Just keep an eye on her and I'm sure she'll be fine!

GREAT JOB, Jeffrey!! I'm very proud of you for going out there and doing surgery on her!! I hope she's doing much better now. I've been worried all day and now I'm feeling a lot better about her. I really hope she makes a full recovery.
GO BIG P!!!

PS. Next time you're out here, let me know. I can show you the vitamins I get for my birds (I give it to them when they are sick) and I can also give you a little bit of baby parrot food.
You can give her some yogurt, if you have it. That will probably be pretty good fo her. Maybe cook her up some oatmeal and feed it to her on a spoon.

Thanks guys. Ive been feeding her cooked scrambled eggs and lots odf vitamins and electrolites in he water. I really cant go bye he pain killers because im broke,,lol

. Is there any other things i can use to reduce the pain a little bit? Thanks.

You can dissolve one plain aspirin in a quart of water. If you are using a gallon waterer, use 5 aspirin.

I am glad she is still going strong. You did a good job.
