Tell him there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Been there done that, have the stainless steel face to prove it, except it was a horse stepping on my face. I'm sorry he is in so much pain, the face is one of the worst places to be injured. In one way I'm lucky I have no feeling in most of my face now, the nerves never grew together. You guys hang in there, it takes a lot of support and love to get through this together.

I've had two minor lung surgeries through my nose and stayed awake as well. It wasn't that bad actually. But it didn't involve breaking anything. lol.

I also had braces and the spreader thing with the key as well as many other mouth pieces for 4 years. Still have several mouth pieces now that won't be coming out. Yuck. I had/have a terrible class 3 over bite, as well as TMJ and other jaw issues. But mine didn't hurt as much as I expected. I think I just have high pain tolerance. But he looks terrible. Poor guy. Surgery is never fun. I feel his pain. I got 3 heart and 2 lung surgeries in the past year and a half. Hope he has a speedy recovery, and his swelling goes down quickly. I'm sure he will be happy once it's all done and fixed. In the mean time, he needs lots of extra attention.
