Using creek sand

We have plenty of true creek sand ( directly out of the creek) available however I am questioning the use of this sand. Anyone use it for their run? I’m wondering if there could be contamination in the sand that may not be good for the chickens.

I live on River frontage so I would not be able to keep my chickens out of the sand. It's beneficial, perfect for dust baths, helps keep worm population down, grit, etc. I don't think there is any contamination concerns to have. If you're planning to remove alot of sand from a creek? I'd make sure it's legal. Class 3 stream usually not. We can't even mess with River vegetation it's so protected...
