Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but here goes... 
We have a bag of food grade DE (diatomaceous earth) that we bought to use on our organic garden - that was a hot bed for slugs. That stuff worked wonders!!! Now we have about 3/4 of a bag remaining that we will continue to use for the garden but not so heavy, since between the DE, salt and diligence we've gotten the slug population under good control.
I saw many mentions of people using it in their coops. Just wondering in what way I can use it for the chickens? They have a sand floor inside the coop and a sand/gravel/dirt floor in the run. Will they benefit from it's use at all? I'm afraid if I don't use it the humidity is going to get to it since it is highly absorptive. Thanks!
