Valentine's day hatch -a-long

I want to hatch some!! But i have the worst luck, im sure they will all be male:hit
Yeah...that is what is keeping me from hatching more...I ended up with 70% males from my hatch last year. I do have a guy that will take them if I'll grow them out for him...but it so disappointing to end up with so few girls.:hmm:hit

ok so are the air cells supposed to move around? or just stay put? candling and then letting them rest for 24 hours
and how porous is too porous?
i will try to post pics

If it is detached, will it hatch? Should I not turn for 24 hrs - will that help? I have shipped eggs, 48 hrs?
I have been able to hatch eggs that had detached air cells. My incubator has an automatic turner so the eggs are in an upright position. Did you let the eggs sit for 24 hours after receiving them? Sometimes it will reattach. Are you using an incubator with an automatic turner or will you be turning them yourself?

I've set a lot of eggs today, too. I do not look forward to the rooster cull. I found out today that I have a total of 6 roos. :( No clue how many silkie roos I have or if the barnevelder that I hatched already is a roo or not.

I have a 56 egg plastic incubator with an autoturner, upright. I received the eggs yesterday morning. I got silkie eggs:wee, putting them in the incubator tonight.
