Woa, this is an old thread but I though it should be known that chickens are legal here now. No fight, and honestly, I don't even know why there was a fight... My hens are MUCH quieter than my neighbors dogs and all my neighbors love them. And the permit only costs $15... soooooo.... I just don't get this town sometimes. I am an affiliate of City Hall here in Missoula and I can tell you that from what I can gather they are all educated, and considerate. I think the problem was (and will be) the older population. They seem concrete in their ways and just won't budge were people like me are stuck in class all day and know the truth about voting and who's vote holds weight or who's voice is the loudest is the most clear.
