Dot was still on the nest. I put two chicks under her, she liked them but only when they were under her, when they would try to come out she would push them back under or peck them.
So. I have decided she is an over protective mother and that she will protect her chicks from anything. Even themselves. I am now trying to break her. And I will only let her go broody again if I REALLY need someone to hatch chicks. But I doubt it, I have an incubator.
 
Oh I suppose she thought they were eggs that kind of sounds like she was treating them like that with the pushing them under her too bad because it is really fun to have a broody raise chicks but maybe you have another hen that could raise them instead of her?

Marshmallow has four seven week old chicks that she hatched herself, she doesn't like the new ones.
