I don't think that short of period with high humdity would hurt. Don't let the stress get to you, takes away the fun.

I got an old sportmans off of craiglist, and getting the humidity up at the end of the hatch has been the hardest thing for me. I just experimented with each hatch, and think I have it under control now. But my first hatch in this bator, was a nightmare....lots had dry membranes...

My shipped quail eggs hatched out good though....those little boogers are the most forgiving of all shipped eggs. They just pop out like popcorn..lol. I have some quail eggs in this batch too...they are always fun to do.

Just candled mine. 5 out of 6 BCM are veining, 6 of 8 ss are veining, I still can't see through the EEs blue shells, and my Rosecombs don't seem to be fertile.
How is everyone else doing?

I tried to peak at mine today using the maglite in the incubator. I'm hand turning the eggs, so since I was in there already, I had to try it. I can see aircells in the top of all but one (the darkest Welsummer egg), but I didn't pick them up to try and see anything else. I don't know if I should have been able to see veining yet (day 5), but I couldn't.

Twinlights, what did you use to candle your BCM eggs?

I set mine at 6am the 22nd and don't plan to candle till June 1st. I like to wait a bit so that I don't miss anything.

LOL, I used a maglight with a toilet roll tube taped to the end. The end has black duct tape to make a smaller hole. Very high tech!

It is very hard to see through the dark eggs. The room has to be very dark. My EEs must have thick shells or something because I can't see through them at all.
