HI! I just wanted to pass this along to everyone since I have now read about 4 members of this site that are in the same situation as me! DO NOT order an incubator from customincubators.com!! I placed on order with them on their website back on December 4th with an anticipated ship date of December 14th. I contacted the seller in the middle of December and was assured that the incubator would be shipped, that they were delayed by a late thermostat order. I waited, and contacted them again after the first of January, with the same response...still waiting. I contacted them around the 13th of this month, and instead of an email response, I recieved a refund. By this point, I was fine with a refund...I anticipated already setting eggs...so I was happy to move on to a different bator. Today, I recieved an email from Paypal that the refund did not clear the sellers bank account. I emailed the seller this morning and have not heard anything back. I have heard from another BYC'r that the same thing has occurred with their order...I see they still have listings on eBay and their website is still accepting orders...but I'd advise you to STAY AWAY!! I have filed a claim with Paypal and at this point think I'll be lucky to get my money back.

I too had that happen to me on their site. I ordered and paid Dec 13th and just barely got my money back on Monday of this week. He kept giving me excuses.
 
I ordered from their website and did not use eBay... I used paypal on my American Express... so I will be getting my money back one way or another... But I am NOT happy... Just talked to a lady tonight who's now paid this person twice, and is now afraid she will not get anything for it. Her paypal refund was denied... I called them and emailed them today and got no reply... Looks like there are a lot of us in the same boat.

I confirmed with paypal that they transferred the money back to my paypal account. They informed me they made his account negative and it is available to me regardless of if it clears his bank. Call paypal!

He also called me, and informed that this is all a mix up and he has my incubator about ready to go, but due to the misunderstanding his paypal account cannot be used. He is asking for payment to be sent to him another method. :rolleyes: FYI

FYI

He played the "your incubator is ready to ship" with me for 3 weeks. I wouldn't trust him again. Something is fishy.
 
Well no refund to me still. I thought that is why you should use paypal to keep yourself safe against scammers. Looks like I have to jump thru some more hoops with E-Bay/Paypal to get my money..GEEEEZ!
 
He just replied to me on another thread saying it is a problem with the old owner... I agree something is fishy...

Well, I can't say that this thread makes me very happy!! I'm sorry that so many people are in this position...I'm sure they will just open another website under a different name and take a bunch of other people's money!!!

Man o man, the more I read the more sad I get. Now the website is down??! I emailed them earlier today to check the status of my order.... no reply. I really hope Paypal will refund. That is what buyer protection is I believe. I'm not sure why I've been paying all these fees and using Paypal if it isn't for some sort of guarantee when a seller flakes out. I really want to order another incubator now, but that won't be an option for quite awhile if I don't get my money back!
Bad sellers are so frustrating. I'm kind of my feedback if there is a misunderstanding, but this is blatantly scamming and negative feedback IS in order. I however did not purchase through ebay.

Based on all of this information and not hearing back from the seller yet about my status, I have filed a claim with Paypal.
And - THANK YOU billiejo for starting this thread to keep us informed. I appreciate it and I'm certain we're saving others from the trouble we're in.
 
well perhaps he will feel the need to correct past errors by refunding our monies since he is on this thread and can see we have legit complaints.
 
HA! I saw someone else actually fell for this and paid the guy twice...said she paid the "new owner"....what a bunch of bull....
