Washing polish chicken crests?

I'm new to raising polish chickens. I have 2 buff polish chickens and I've noticed their crests are quite dirty from rain and dirt ( I've been on vacation the last week). What is the best way to wash their crest?

I don't think you need to worry about it. Chickens like to dust bathe and can have some dirt on them anyway. I would check to makes sure there's no issues caused from the mud. But once the mud is dry, it will just shake right off.
Are they able to get out of the rain and mud to get dry? That would really be your only concern - is that they can dry at some point during the day.
