Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Just did a little more work around the well head. Leveled the ground around it in preparation for pouring the small concrete slab. Hauled away 2 wheelbarrow loads of rocky dirt to my "I'll figure out what to do with this later" pile.

Sunny and cool here too. And Windy. I pulled the cover off of my kale plants this morning so they could get some direct sunshine, and all are laying down towards the north. Wind is from the south.

Today I filled up 10 heavy duty trashbags with ash, nails, hinges and other crap from a big burn pile the previous owners of my house left me. Some of the ash was mine, but most was here when I bought the place. I'm trying to get it all cleaned up before it starts raining, and turns the lightweight ash into heavy mud.

I have monthly garbage pickup, so I'll drop a few bags into the trash bin each month until they're all gone.

Worked a little more on my well head slab project today, too. Gotta get that done before it starts raining next week, too.

Good Wednesday Morning,:caf
It was dry yesterday up until 3pm, and we got very hard winds, red flag warnings and it rain a little around 7pm. This morning its 48 out and the rain has returned :love I worked outside all day getting weeds and brush cut . Got another jar of kraut going and fresh kombucha. Later after everything dries off I'll uncover the tomatoes & get some more clean up outside done for a few hours. I weeded one of the lavender beds and want to get the other one done.
:cafcup#2, chickens are out and the sky has cleared off,, I guess I better get to doing, but I'll wait the dogs are sill sleeping and my coffee pots not empty

Good morning! We had some wind yesterday afternoon too, just enough to inspire my to take whatever containers were empty up to the garden and pick. Mostly tomatoes!

I'm going to finish bagging up the ash from the burn pit this morning, and I decided to just haul it all to the Centralia transfer station and get rid of now. They take hazardous materials on Wednesday, so I'm going to drop off a few fluorescent bulbs I have laying around too.

Big weather change starting Saturday! Cold and wet!

Not excited about the change in weather. Here comes winter. Get used to it. It will be here for a while.

Cool weather I like, constant rain not so much, but at least the ground in my yard won't be hard as cement any more. Till next summer anyway. I quit watering my garden a couple weeks ago because I'd had about enough of it.

I'm not sure how the cold, wet weather will affect my tomato plants. Need to make sure I get all the ripe and turning ones picked before the rain hits, I guess.
