Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Here's an update on Cooper. He is well integrated into the flock and is surrounded by girls at roosting time. That tells me they trust him. He and Pippi are getting along just fine. Pippi will still chase from time to time to remind him who's top rooster. And get this, Pippi is actually mating the girls again. I guess he just needed a little competition.

Thanks for the update! I'm glad my boy is doing well with your flock. Pippi didn't like being shown up around the girls, I bet. Are the girls submitting to Cooper now?

As much as my girls submit to anyone. My youngest is a 1 1/2 years old.
I guess I'm the rooster here. Every night when I'm out with them, one or two come up to me and squat. And I give them what they want, put my hand on their back and give them a good shake. Then they shake and fluff their feathers, and all is good with the world. LOL

Harvest day. Getting all the ripe tomatoes into the freezer, and the ones I picked today are waiting in the wings.

Didn't do as well as I'd hoped with my butternut squash. There are two or three more that might still mature in the garden. I planted them way to close together this year. Live and learn.

Cukes are done. Need to pull the vines. I was going to pull up my giant zucchini plant, but when I saw that there were three new ones set on that look really healthy, decided might as well give 'em a chance.
