Waterfowl Pics and Chat!

Well she is limping but mostly tries not to use to at all like it is really bugging her!! I looked at and and didn't see anything to obvious but I can check again more closely. I separated her the other day when it was warmer out but then the temp. Droped so I put her with the others to help stay warm. I gave her a tub of water and she just sat in it about all day!. She doesn't seem to be getting picked on but it is getting close to breeding season and I wasn't sure the male Injered it

Nothing on the bottom of the pad? Giving her a tub of water was a good idea, keep doing that too.

Also did you feel all along her leg for heat. swelling? the gander may have hurt her unintentionally if they have started to mate. It can get kinda rough. Yes give her swim time taking weight off her leg plus water therapy is good. But also not having her running around trying to keep up with the group would help to if you could put her with one other goose for a few days just for rest. and some TLC. I could even be something going on with her back that affecting her leg, does she lay eggs yet? having problems laying can cause problems also. Just trying to get you to look at all possibilities. Hopefully she is doing better today.

Yes she seems to doing a little better. She isn't laying yet but I hope they all start to soon!.. I had this same problem with one of my buffs last year (when she was laying) but it didn't seem to be as bad or last as long! I well keep checking up.. Thank You for all the help so far:)

Natefog I have one who three times has been unable to walk the day before laying an egg. Its terrible to watch and twice I was sure that it wasn't an egg problem but she sorted it out. I hope you're girl does too, they work so hard.

Well I looked closer today and didn't see anything to obvious.. I guess I just have to give it time.... During the proces I also got a wing bone at my nose!! Ouch that hurt!! Especially in the cold weather today!! Haha
