Weak Peahen, Can't walk without stumbling and toppling over.

Any chance you could pluck the neck and chest feathers to and fill with water and air so we can see what it looks like while still on the bird?

I think the benefit to this would be for someone with a sick bird to be able to see the difference between a "normal" full crop and a "distended" crop that isn't clearing properly... That's a hard thing to figure out, I think, if the only sample you have is standing in front of you and you don't know what "normal" is supposed to look like...

Maybe he did them outside?

I remember reading years back that he had to do it at night (like, LATE at night) because it would not have been well received in that time and culture.... But maybe that was just dramatic excess, and it really was no big deal? Apparently he was centuries ahead of everyone else in the anatomy study stuff...

If I remember correctly, it was the Catholic Church that was opposed to Da Vinci's anatomical studies and dissections. I believe they were opposed to the practice as a whole.

I have just returned from a trip to town to buy feeding syringe, tubing, baby bird food, etc. Just checked on the hen. She is standing on the floor of her coop. I didn't bother her further. I'm waiting for my husband to get home in a hour so we can bring her up to the house and put her in the dog kennel. Then we'll try our hands and tubing her. I have confidence, after talking to Kathy, that we can do this with , hopefully, no problems. I have Baytryl and Metronidazole that I'm going to give her.
Question 1: Can I dose both medications at the same time?
Question 2: Since I'm pumping all that liquid into the crop, can I add the meds to the syringe and shoot it all down at the same time?
