Weak Peahen, Can't walk without stumbling and toppling over.

Do the first set of fluids without drugs, then add them to the second one. Did you also get the 50% dextrose?

There are actually some pretty important clues that seem to not have been asked. Is the hen sitting or standing with the head and neck pulled closed to the back/body or is it extended normally? Although I saw something about thin, it was not from the poster? Is she thin? and lastly is she sitting or standing with the feathers ruffled out.

If the answer to these questions are generally: normal (or anything but retracted close to the body), not particularly thin, and no ruffled feathers it is much more likely that she has suffered neurological damage which you cannot treat.

He gave me the impression that the pedialyte would be the same as the dextrose. If he needs both, I can go out tomorrow and find the dextrose.

not the same stuff.

Edited to add... unless maybe Kathy was saying to use pedialyte OR water + dextrose? I dunno what she said on the phone...

You guys are sick.

Hoping when I get sick that my own doctor has thoroughly studied anatomy... which was kinda not done back then, and probably one of the reasons that doctors were pretty dangerous in those days. DaVinci managed to study anatomy by breaking the rules... I'm hoping medical students today have the benefit of well-lit rooms.

Trying to give Zaz moral support while she gathers some anatomical illustrations for pea-science

It sounds like she is wormy . feel her breast to see if it is thin. Any one that I have had over the years that was like that I would worm with one of the mectins. Panacure will be OK. I don't think it has long to live. Worm her and maybe put some heat on the bird . connerhill
