Weird things only poultry people get.

Anybody ever ask you how you tell your chickens apart? Why you like chickens? Ask you what the cute red and white thing full of water in your chicken coop is?

Here's a spot to post your funny stories about these things and more. (If this should be in a different section, please move it!)

Here's one of mine: Last year, I was reading a book called How to Speak Chicken. Someone looks at me and in the most condescending tone possible, says, So, how do you speak chicken? I say, "bawk."
This is funny, because when I need them to get in their coop, I saw Bawk Bawk Bawk Bawk, and they go running inside!! 🤣

I was lucky.
At one point the local game warden used to live up the road. He would come get my wildlife (whatever I had at the time) and take them to show and tell at local schools. That was back in the day when they could do things like that without some sue happy idiot looking to get rich quick.

How did "Karen" end up being the brunt of all this angst and represent such a terrible type of person? My sister's name is Karen and I have a very good friend named Karen and they are totally opposite of this list. They are both wonderful people, as I am sure many other Karens are. Just wondering where all this came from? Why Karen? How about "Butthead" :hmm
I agree. Why do we have to label anybody?

I agree. I guess that the name Karen has just became a bad definition. I actually know Karen’s that are great people. I am actually kinda curious about how that definition of Karen started.
Karen is a noun, and the definition of bad people is just one of the definitions, along with the name and a group of languages. Karen isn’t even a new noun that was created for this, it was created for the group of languages back before with was even a name. Yeah, it stinks. I’ve met great Karen’s too, I dated one in high school for a while, but the definition of a Karen as in an entitled person has existed since the 60’s, used as a slang term for stay at home moms.

You see, that’s not how we treat Karen’s. We only treat them poorly if they do poor things. The whole Karen thing started from Television, and it’s just like how the whole ‘ I’m not like other girls’ thing started. Big companies started giving us stereotypes that we were taught to either like or dislike. We all mean the best, but it is really hard to break out of society’s beliefs, like all the nice Karen’s know. If society tells us to hate someone, eventually we are forced by peer pressure to align our own beliefs with the community’s. If someone thought of a better thing to call them, we would do it, but any other name would just hurt more people. The ‘Karen’ stereotype has existed since the 60’s, and switching it up now would ruin more people’s lives.

We don’t hate Karens, we hate how some small portion of humanity acts. It’s just unfortunate that in this universe we have had that name imprinted in our heads as a bad thing. If less people acted entitled, we wouldn’t have it, but that’s not how the world works. I have lived my whole life knowing that Karens were a thing to try and avoid, but the noun Karen doesn’t mean the name. It’s just like how there are a collection of languages that are called Karens, they just happen to share the same name.
My sister and I were born early 60's. Just last week was the first I had ever heard about the "Karen" thing. My young adult/teen children were talking about it so I figured it was a new thing. I wasn't too impressed though. I guess it is like the Australians using the term "Sheila", but I don't think "Sheila" term is as bad as "Karen" seems to be these days.

Karen has had a history of being used as slang for entitled people since spring when you were born. It had an awful meaning then, being used as slang for stay at home moms without a job or income. Karen just is a word, that has been used as slang for so long it seems the definition has been getting better day by day.

I think Australians just don’t have as many ‘Shelias’ as the rest of the world has Karens, so it wouldn’t be as bad of a word.
