I would love pet raccoons, but they are illegal in my state . How do you keep them from eating your chickens?

2 completely different chain link enclosures on opposite sides of the farm.

I've had just about any wild animal you can catch as a pet at some point. My skunk died about 5 years after the made it illegal to own them here (he was grandfathered in). My pet deer (doe) died about 10 years before they made it illegal to own them. Her GGG grankids still come around but the next gen is a bit more wild than the one before but they still know we aint gonna mess with them and you can get closer than normal deer.

You want real weird questions try having a skunk, fox, bobcat, coon, deer on a leash. Or a squirrel on your shoulder eating a peanut. My skunk jumped up to look out my truck window once while I was sitting at a red light and I thought the woman beside me was gonna run the red light.

The tiny fluffy ones at the feed store lay pastel purple eggs. Hens lay either brown, white, or blue polka-dot eggs, and, as said before, adult roos lay green eggs.

Oh, i wish to be able to have all those animals one day. Maryland is incredibly strict about animals though, nothing wild and no permits to be allowed to get something wild.

One time, I was talking to a vegetarian friend, and I offered to bring her some of my eggs. She declined, saying she couldn't eat them knowing what they could have been. I told her I don't have a rooster, so the eggs aren't even fertilized. She did not know that you had to have a rooster to have chicks. She still wouldn't eat the eggs after I explained it to her though. Her loss I guess.

Definitely her loss! I'd choose fresh eggs over store bought eggs any day!

I know, as a vegetarian. But I have a bit more basic knowledge of eggs.
