Weird things only poultry people get.

One fall day I pulled my daughters winter barn coat out of the closet, where it had been stored all summer. Thought I would wash it so it was ready for when it got cold. When I checked the pocket before putting it in the washer I found an egg! So glad I checked the pockets!
That would have been super bad if not found :sick

I hate when eggs break in the pocket and then you have to clean it (nearly impossible) and your entire laundry room smells like raw egg 🤢
I have busted exactly one egg in a pocket this year. It was forgotten in an outdoor jacket destined for the laundry. Yes, nasty. Made the laundry a chore.

However, my hens have been so busy playing with the opposite sex during COVID that my supply of breakfast eggs has been limited to 1-4 per day with a lot of peeps not yet ready to lay eggs. That limits the number of eggs that don’t make it to the kitchen a few minutes after collection.

Then, there are the old nest boxes...eggs there rarely make it into coat pockets or rolled-up shirts....

If you can count, it is easy to remember my chickens' names. I use numbered wing bands 1-300.
I've never named a chicken.
Naming would be a problem, they're all black.
Wait so all of their names are numbers?

"67! Don't peck your sister 48! Oh hello, 30 oh I mean 31 sorry. Quit your egg singing 86!"
Sorry I had to. :lau
