Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Oh that is awful. :(
:hugs:hugs:hugs

Thanks :hugs I didn't post about it at the time because I probably just didn't want to even talk about it. Some of those birds were direct descendants of my first ever chickens.

:barnie will she still be laying by the time hes old enough?

I hope so :fl I'm hoping maybe he'll mature quick. I think he's been trying to crow.

All caught up. But I'm too heartbroken to reply to anything. Went outside to let the ducks out this morning, my drake Jax was already out in the yard. How'd he get out? I opened the gate, the adults and 2 of Lexi's babies came running out. Where are the rest?

7 dead ducklings.... 6 floating in the boat, 1 up on the rocks beside it. :hit

A tree branch had fallen on my electric fence, I guarantee it was a raccoon that got in. Only the ducklings were killed. Chickens all fine, other 2 ducklings in a different area are fine, even the broody that is wedged behind the baby coop is fine.

I'll be building a new fence and adding another layer of electric wire this evening.

:hit  :hit  :hit

IKR! I asked for them in person 3x (first, the day they were adopted & 2 other times when I was in buying cat food) & I've sent texts in Feb, March & now this one in May. I've sent pix of the cats every single month to keep me fresh in her mind. I spent a boatload of cash to 'rescue' these cats & have repeatedly told her I can met her any day at any time... Sheesh!
Id just freakin write her off.... Get the cats scanned at your vet. and identify the chip company.... you can go from there.

I hate people that dont give you a direct answer and who try to manipulate you. its an insult to your intelligence.

And if you find those cats arent microchipped theres your reason why....

I think I might not have posted it here.

I bought some guineas from a local woman in mid March. I had them in quarantine in my garage, with my ko shamo pair in my workshop next door. I had asked the woman before purchasing if she had ever had respiratory issues of any kind in her birds and she said no.

However, about three days after getting my guineas, my ko shamo pair started sneezing. I asked the woman again and suddenly there was this one silkie she had bought that when she put it in with her birds started sneezing, but that was it, and she told me the guineas had lived in a separate pen. Doesn't really matter since they all lived in the same barn.

Then my ACs started sneezing. And then it got to my frizzle flock and one hen's mouth filled with mucus and buildup and her face swelled. I culled her and sent some swabs out for testing.

Coryza. The guineas gave all my birds coryza. Apparently my quarantining practices still let the disease slip out.

So I collected eggs and culled all the chickens, because that's all you can do. Clover and Coriander were spared because they both were (and are) living in my house on my other property 15 minutes away from my other birds. They're my only adult chickens now.

Best part - after I had testing done I told the woman I bought the guineas from about it. Even though she had already told me she had had a sneezing bird, suddenly there was no way it came from her birds. Must have been wild birds that infected my chickens that live totally indoors and had no contact with wild birds. Yep, totally wild birds, no way her birds were sick, nope.

what. a. nightmare. :th D'Arcy was gorgeous .

:rant to that lady.

And how well do you need to clean out the pens etc? :he

Clover laid her first egg today.

And I have no rooster for her :barnie My cockerel that is slated to be her boyfriend is only two months old. I could have put her under Mr. Darcy since they weren't related but of course he had to be put down with all the rest of my chickens a couple months ago. So now I have to wait for his son to be old enough to get the job done.
How terrible, why did all your chickens have to be put down? So sorry about that happening!
Never mind i read your other post.
