it was just over 30 hours so not horrible but still long enough, 1/2 the town is still out
and there are still trees and broken poles everywhere

Finally! First one of the year! Unfortunately it froze solid so I'll have to put a heat lamp over the nesting house to keep it from happening again, at least until it warms up.

But, whoever laid it did lay it in the nesting house I built! So it looks like they've taken to it. And I found two chicken eggs today. Eggs are finally coming! Hopefully I get another goose egg or two before the 18th so I can set them for the hatch a long like I wanted to do.

These were sent into work yesterday from Hoover hatchery. Claimed to be white leghorns. That they definitely are not. There was 6 in the shipment but I bought the 2 most spotty ones.

Dark legs and one dark and one light beaks.

Ideal sells something they call "California Whites" that look like that.
