Things are swell. Just started raining outside, but we were due for some. How are things in your neck of the woods?

things are warm and humid, as should be expected for the time of year.

had a productive weekend, at least by my standards. Saturday, got my grand daughter set up with a chicken tractor, and two BR pullets. fixed some concrete forms, that got a little out of square and level due to kids playing in the sand we used for filler. 16# sledge, and a few or allot of new stakes got 'er right again.

Sunday found us building new raised beds for the garden, using some bricks we found for free. Boys helped alot with the raised bed, and it turned out nice. I think I have enough blocks to build one more as well. Of course working on the garden, led to additional weeding around the okra plants, which led to overall yard work.

you know, working outside in this heat, will lead to mucho sweating?
Hi everyone. Attempting my first day on crutches in a long time. Forgot how annoying they are! We'll see if I can make it until the boot gets here.

Besides that, not much new here. Happy to see a few clouds in the sky this morning and feel a bit more moisture in the air.
hopefully the vertigo will stay at bay.

fine, don't speak to me Mr. BertS

Back from our cruise and it was fantastic! Can't wait to go back and do it all again!

But we came home Saturday evening to find out that the kids were leaving for Denver the next morning so Kendra can have emergency revision surgery. I've posted a complete update on the Kids with Disabilities thread and would sure appreciate some prayers for our little one.

Morning Berts your weekend sounded like mine . Decided to try using old hay rolls to put around the and under the running plants to help with weeds and maybe less tilling . weeded around the okra late in the evening yesterday . to hot for that mid day . changed shirts yesterday three times

my plan is by next spring garden, everything will be grown in raised beds. I tried hay bale gardening. pretty much a failure, except for green beans. nothing else thrived.

peppers-nope
tomatoes-nope
squash-nope
cukes-nope

pretty disappointed with it. on the positive side, I do have lots of composted hay bales to put in the raised beds......lol

oh, let me share these.

hurry and put my chickens in here Pappadaddy!!

chickens and kids!!

boys hard at work, while I supervise from the shade. the real work was done on the first course of blocks, getting each one level, and level with each other. course had a little more to do, with trimming blocks to size. ya'll can see why I had to get in and start weeding the okra.......lol.

All that stuff, chickens, cats, Ben, and phones are just quicker than we are. No need to feel stupid. If you do, then I do too!

Our heat has actually been a little more bearable lately, but the humidity is something else! Shirts don't stay dry very long, that's for sure.

My duck pool has sprung a leak again. But I got a new patch kit last night, so I'll fix it tonight... again. I've got to get those 10 to the pond soon!!
