Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Yes, Rob took my advice to go with preorders! Awesome! Gonna go order one.

Er, in case anyone in here didn't know, I'm a millennial (as is everyone born between 1980 and 2000; there are 37 year old millennials now). There are bad apples in every generation. That doesn't mean all 80 million of us are bad.

Anyway, sorry I haven't been posting in here too much. My great grandmother died late Tuesday night and I've been feeling a bit subdued. We weren't very close since we didn't see each other a lot, but I'm still sad, of course. She was my last grandparent. We are trying to organize her funeral and burial but my great aunt, one of her daughters, is making things as hard as she possibly can, which is not helping things.

1934 Garland gas stove here...also non electric.

Hotspot on my cell phone...

Are you and Sour and Spookwriter related? I love your stories and your writing style is so similar. I miss Spook...

You are blessed...you've done right and passed the best values on to your young'ns.

Exactly. I think you'd have to gather up a dozen millenials (not our kids, of course) to have enough life skills to match one of the generation born the first half of the 20th century at the same age.

Phil, being remote is definitely hard on teens. I had no issues, I took a job on a neighboring farm.
Generators gas cook stove and gas heaters . Power gone internet fridge and tv get the generators . They do have a style don't they . I have tried to teach by example good thing it didn't work ain't it :lau And thank you .I always thought my dad was very intelligent. As were most of those from their generation . Don't sell our kids short the are very intelligent in their on right . Give them time and they will show us how much .

Lets just call it a work in progress, then :plbb
You have to back up a generation for the banjos Chris :lau

Ya shouldn't be looking!
What you don't like women looking up your dress

Yep the difference between a pick pocket and an Gynecologist.... One snatches watches...
Took me a minute for that one :lau:lau Chris and me got nothing on you :bow

Well I'm sitting in the dentist's office with dd3...At least they have wifi!:D
I was there at one and my lip just now feels normal :th

Yep, anything associated with the civil war, well the South's side anyway.
This burn's me up . We're not allowed to have hero's any more .

So now history is offensive?

Sad... Just sad.
:hit:hit:hit:hit

I agree! And it's gonna get worse before it gets better!
I know your right but pray your wrong . I'm not a goat milk fan .

Somehow, I think I'd feel better if it were made up...

Yes - history is hard to deal with. So if we can erase it, it never happened, right?
It will become that way sure enough .

Let me try. Conflict/war/colonial rule leaves a bitter taste to the victims, but not forever . At some point it becomes an integral and accepted part of who we are today and in many ways is celebrated. Thus, perceived symbols of oppression/struggle today, will simply become imbibed into the tapestry that makes us who we, in the furture.

In South Africa, for example a number of monuments refelecting Boer rule (and Cecil Rhodes, for that matter) have been pulled down and understandably, for now. It may be regretted in a couple of hundred years as they will have lost the physical history of where they came from and what they have become.

And please, I implore you - keep any such intellectual gymnastic-related issues to before Gordon's o'clock :D
So there is clarity amongst the murky water . This is an excellent post Chris :thumbsup:goodpost::clap

Gosh, just seen an alert from a new member called "mary huff" - yep - "hairy muff" was what my mind saw
And your back :lau:lau:lau

Er, in case anyone in here didn't know, I'm a millennial (as is every single person born between 1980 and 2000; there are 37 year old millennials now). I don't think I'm overly sensitive or helpless at all aspects of life aside from a computer. There are bad apples in every generation. That doesn't mean all 80 million of us are bad.
