Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Yes, Rob took my advice to go with preorders! Awesome! Gonna go order one.

Er, in case anyone in here didn't know, I'm a millennial (as is everyone born between 1980 and 2000; there are 37 year old millennials now). There are bad apples in every generation. That doesn't mean all 80 million of us are bad.

Anyway, sorry I haven't been posting in here too much. My great grandmother died late Tuesday night and I've been feeling a bit subdued. We weren't very close since we didn't see each other a lot, but I'm still sad, of course. She was my last grandparent. We are trying to organize her funeral and burial but my great aunt, one of her daughters, is making things as hard as she possibly can, which is not helping things.
.

Pyxis, both my kids are millenials and I would put my daughter in the "figure it out" group. My son is very intelligent but missed something in the "use what you got" training. I hope that some day he spends some time having to figure something out. Hugs to you and your family. I lost my grandparents long ago, and great grandparents even longer. I still miss those days cooking with my grandma and working in the garage with my grandpa. I hope I can be that grandparent some day.

So sorry about your great grandmother. Hope preparations go smoothly!
Didn't mean to lump all millennials:oops:...There are alot who are smart, independent and reliable...All around great people! Have some in my house! You are definitely one of the many great ones!:hugs

Jiffy was my moms favorite too, but hubby doesn't like it as well. i don't eat any of it. :sick

Sounds like fun! And i agree the quail OEGBs are gorgeous!

Definitely preserve the antiques. ;)
and you, my friend, are also in a class of your own. :hugs

:yesss: On the calendar, :hugs for grandma and difficult family members.

Thank you all for the condolences :hugs

I got back a little while ago from installing an autodoor on my AC coop and things did not go well. Not on the bird front, that's fine, but I had an incident with my cousin's boyfriend. Since I don't want to type the whole thing out because it would take far too long, basically he stole two newly hatched chicks from one of my broody hens, took them into the house, put them in pretty much a chinese takeout food holding box with a dish of water that they can easily drown themselves in, scattered crumbles all over the floor of the box, which I suspect are layer crumbles, not chick feed, has no heat source on them, refused to let me take them because "he had been caring for them so they are his now", insisted I was wrong when I told him they wouldn't last the night without a heat source, and then started accusing me of leaving my birds without food and water for days (which I obviously don't or they'd all be, you know, dead), admitted that he's been trying to get into my locked AC run because he's decided the birds in there have no food despite the full thirty pound feeder in their coop, and pretty much just called me a neglectful poultry owner.

Then I got to leave listening to the chicks screaming because they were too cold while they all sat down for dinner and ignored them. They'll probably be dead by morning. He claimed he had a ceramic heat emitter that he was going to put over them, but apparently dinner was important than doing that.

Needless to say, there's going to be trouble for him tomorrow. My father, the landlord, will be going over there to have a word.

I did not need this on top of everything else, I really did not.

yep. .I can shake it lol
Things went ok with my d d so far. She is staying the weekend with me I'm taking her to the chiropractor.
Not sure if she is really taking in everything we are saying to her but she is not arguing or crying so that's good. Told her she can either finish paying for the car or she can spend some time here working it off. Gonna make her do my laundry and clean house a bit in exchange for her chiropractor bill. She needs to get an x Ray she is having pain when she tries to lift her arm.
I really wasn't as angry as I thought I was once I had her in my arms again. . . talking here has really helped me put things in perspective. I can't believe being given a pair of call ducks has had such an impact on my life! Besides the enjoyment I get from them , it brought me here to be encouraged by some great people. For that I am eternally grateful!
