Beans, corn bread n fried taters...Can't beat em. I use my Dutch oven and iron skillets for all! Only difference is I don't use pork. I season with garlic, onion, and beef, venison or goat. A mighty fine pot of beans too!:lau
That's to much work .Soak them beans throw em in the crock pot with the hocks four five hours you got beans and all the fat your joints need to be well lubricated . This is getting to me I'm getting hungrier by the minute . :drool Maybe some fresh grilled flounder basted with butter and dill would be good bout now :drool I gotta make a run to the coast . Maybe some fresh Maine lobster now that WV brought it up .Or some king crab legs .:drool kin feel the butter on my chin. This is bad really bad I'm a food junkie :oops: I was on the wagon till you all started this :lau
 
One of the reasons I'm not a member of the AC club :( I would be if their website had its own forums or something, but with everything on FB, I'm probably not going to join or participate because I just don't do FB.
Haha - I hear ya! We have a local poultry group on FB and someone posted some bare legged BCM pullets for sale. I just wrote "feathered feet?" on a comment and took a barrage of anger. So I posted the SOP link and the administration contacted me and said if I posted any more outside links I would be banned from the group. Not sure what planet I was on at that point. So I politely apologized and removed myself.

No one seems to have a stand at they are going by for the 55s so I am jusg going to breed what I like. For now ill breed what I have because I only have 2 cockerels, 1 silver and 1 gold. I like the flecking in the feathers, distinguishes them from plain old white leghorns.
I was thinking the same. The "silvers" are kind of plain looking. I wish I had a gold cockerel, but they're all various stages of grey.
 
Nope Peggy and could make jams and jellies out of anything . And the best biscuits in the world . Canned everything we ate when we were young . Our garden was at least an acre every year . If momma cooked it it was good . Even turnips . Different world then our bacon still had the skin. Milk came from the cow bread from the oven . Never thought I'd look back on those poor hard times and miss them but I do . She was the kind that tried to feed you every time you walked in the door . All in all t typical mother form that time . Aunts were the same way .Your saying I ain't hungry and their putting food on the table cause you got to eat something . Yep miss em all . I'm sitting here eating cherry tomatoes like grapes I'm so hungry. And they are really good this year :drool

I'm eating cherry tomatoes too, mixed with some cukes and celery, drenched in balsamic vinaigrette dressing. :drool

I just joined a Facebook group for them (noticed @cjwaldon is on). They gave some answers, but I always think of BYC as being the definitive site on all things chicken, so am hoping to get some input from these peeps. I have a love/hate relationship with the "book of the face. "

Mine is 99% hate, 1% tolerate. :D

Thanks! You all made me remember I had some ham and beans froze up in the freezer. I was wondering what to make for supper. Great idea!
