We built a hoop greenhouse a few years ago and DH took some manure/soil out of the old cow yard. The plants in there are beautiful!

Ahhh, just the person I need to talk to. I'm almost finished a hoop greenhouse of my own. Does yours sit on the ground, or on gravel or concrete? I'm building it on a concrete slab; it's pretty much level, and it's dry. I can leave it there, where walking in mud won't be a problem, rain will run off due to an ever-so-slight slope, and watering plants won't make a sloppy mess, OR, I can locate it on the ground & lay rubber stall mats to walk on, but they're not cheap.
Does yours get full sun all day? Where it is now, up against the west wall of the house, it's only in the sun from noon 'til sundown.

Ours sits on the ground, in full sun all day. I will take pics and PM them to you when I get a chance.

my pond is still frozen most mornings. But these boiling temps of 45 at midday are getting the snow melted.

We will have ice for a while.....

I just had a suck hatch...

I checked the eggs.. 2 died after the internal pip... 4 died right before internal pip Chicks looked great.. no deformity, not sticky, not shrink wrapped.... Of the 4 that did hatch.. 1 has an underbite (totally unrelated parents BTW )... might have to kill it.

My only guess is the eggs were from too early in the season.. too cold and not enough vitamins.

What the heck is going on with everyone's hatches this year??

I only got 2 cream legbars to hatch! And almost lost the 2nd one. I was gone all day yesterday, came home to it half zipped and motionless. Peeled it open and luckily it was still alive. Super duper stuck and gooey. Yuck. But I think I actually got a male/female pair!

ETA - all the rest were beak between knees malpositioned!
