Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Feeling better got my blood sugar up to normal ranges... Peanut butter and apple.... did the trick.

The whole reason I wanted to do this was to get off Diabetis medication and blood pressure medication. As my blood sugar goes down with the very restricted diet I am going to have to test more often and write it down.... But the little test strip holder has a memory of about a thousand tests... along with the time.

So far now I have had Blood sugar drops on three out of four days. At times when I am doing more physical things... Walking and house work taking my walker in and out of vehicles. its big and heavy probably heavier than a standard wheelchair.

I am trying to put together the situations as ammo to get my Diabetes meds adjusted... Believe me they dont want me to pass out during the prescribed walks down the hall.

Oh and All of the bariatric patients get a Bariatric Moosie.... Stuffed moose desidned to hug around the middle to put pressure on your stommach when you walk... I cant wait to get my very own Moosie. Silly I know....

they are stuffed firm so that when YOu have to cough then it helps with the pain.
Apparently they arent into much of the way of pain meds.

When I had a Csection thirty years ago on MediCal... They sent us home the next day and siad... Walk... and use a pillow to support your stommach. It worked ....

I am sorry I am rambling on... I am scared spitless and you all are my only peeple to talk to.

Talk all you want!! We are all in your corner rooting for you! :hugs

I think it was three in the morning.... Thanks....

never been so scared in my life. Doesn't help to read statistics on line.

I did read one paper that while too technical was talking about the Laproscopic Gasstric Sleeve surgery and its uses and successes.... Started out as a Pre Rouin Y surgery for the extremely morbidly obese. And they found out it was a very good alternative for less dramatic weight loss.

What I did find out was that There was a seventy percent chance that older people back out.... Were Talking in my age range. I think its that whole Adjusting old habits and routines and ways to comfort yourselves. In my case That all applies Because I know how to make myself feel better physically using diet. I never listened to the signals I am getting now. because i rarely had them.

BUT.... in my defense I am not a trench walker... Dont particularly engoy having only my head sticking out. I wanna climb over the edge and "DO" stuff i have never done. Matter of fact once I turn away from something I rarely go back to do it again. This weight has thrown me into a trench and the longer I am here I Hate it more.

So moving forward up the incline to out.... tomorrow is June... Today I get my hair cut. I am going to walk the parking lot a little. Before going back to the car.

Time to fill my daily pill container.... interruptions suck... I hate doing it in the morning.

Total understanding here girl. Don't let your IQ outsmart you (been there done that). Take a deep breath, vent to us all you need to. We're here, pond dwellers have big shoulders you know. You'll pull up your big girl panties and "git er done" that's who you are. Just keep your eyes focused on the goal, getting the life you want back. Just try not to think about all that work you'll be able to do on your place once you can ;)

Hey, just remember that you are the ballsy broad who can do anything. Yeah, I'd be freaking too, but we know you will kick arse. :yesss:

There’s an old song in there somewhere, “Keep your eyes on the prize. Hold on. Hold on! Hold on! Keep your eyes on the prize. Hold on!” Vaud & the Villains do a great rendition of this song.

So glad your recovery is going well Chicki! And no, I can't imagine not being able to carry more than 20-40 pounds, but I think it would be nice to always be able to say "hon, doctors orders, you'll have to carry this for me..."

I'm good, just had a couple work projects that kept me super busy. Plus a bunch of hatching going on at my place. Lots of new ducklings, chicks, squabs, and more broodies still on eggs. :p

I guess the biggest news that I haven't shared here is that we have a new 14 year old son!

Turns out that my hubby fathered a child, just a few months before we started dating, and the grandmother just got in touch with us a couple months ago. DNA says the boy is his, but I could tell from pictures, without a test! Anyway, we've spent some time with him already, he came over for a weekend with the 16-year old son, and they had a total blast. Couldn't have hoped for any better outcome. He got to meet all his siblings, nieces, nephews, etc... Its been a bit crazy, but surprisingly pleasant!

Other than that, its been really hot here, but it has allowed me to get almost all the chicks and ducklings out of the house. Only 5 ducklings still inside. Coop clean-outs are slow, but I'm working through them too.

@perchie.girl when's the surgery?
:eek:Dang I could use couple of those. Wish sometimes I han't been so careful .Really I could just use another tractor driver(free that is ) :lau The bigger the family the more love all around.:hugs:hugs:hugs

Wow, just wow. My instant thought was, "What a lucky kid to have met you, ladder man, and the rest of the family."
Your right but your always right no big surprise there .:bow

Deb your just facing a new frontier. One thing about pond folks we have fortitude . And some so much more than others . You can do this . Walk in the park for a strong woman like you . Its a proven fact women are much stronger than men . I can bend #4 steel bars with my bare hands even at my age but am a spineless jellyfish when it comes to have any kind of surgery:oops: My appendix was so infected I had to stay on antibiotic IVs for a week in the hospital. I was 27 and to scared to find out what was wrong with me . :hugs My mother was very religious. A fanatic to a point . forced to endure long church meetings, at many different kinds of churches. Even holy rollers . Ear twisting was very common place at church . Sit up face forward don't move . While being fed the fear of God ,Satan, hell fire, and brimstone .When I was ten years old she went in the hospital for a very serious surgery to remove a growth from her heart . She should have died . I believe faith and sear strength kept her alive .She finely became a Methodist. And some what normal long after I grew up. I don't do church on a regular schedule. Ben won't sit still in church . Doesn't mean I don't believe, I've seen to many miracles not to .Somehow how I just knew that Phil would come through his hip surgery fine . Your payer circle is large . Have faith:hugs faith gives you strength . Strength builds courage and courage allows you do what seems impossible but isn't. Your going to do this, look back and be glad you took that first step toward making your life better.BTW I get the first line dance ;)
