:wee the two "babies" that turned 25 wks old (for certain) this week finally started laying!!! I was really beginning to wonder if they were going to. I've got to get a recent pic of those two. If you remember they are pure Orp, just 1/2 Buff and 1/2 Lav with the over standard size parents. These two are already so big they make my senior Buff hen and her Wyandotte buddy look like the pullets. These two are so HUGE they look like off color turkeys!!!

Gotta love the great big orpingtons! I have a few English orpingtons and they really do almost rival the turkeys in size. I'm in need of a new roo though. My old guy developed problems with his legs and I finally had to put him down. I'm thinking maybe arthritis or something. Here are a few of mine from over the years.

I had forgotten about the difference with the English Orps. I bet my two girls are at least 1/2 (if not all) English.
