Went to go buy ducklings and it was disturbing..

Its far more complicated than that. These birds were ill, which means they'll be carriers the rest of their life and will infect every bird they come into contact for. You can't just wash them and make them healthy again. Not to mention at 15 a duckling, there were probably several hundred dollars "worth" of animals there.
Do you think I care those guys were suffering...

Do you have the money to spend hundreds of dollars on animals, medicine, and housing?

I was recently at TSC. My TSC chicks were in awful conditions.

I may have broken down crying.

I really wanted to save them, even if it was just a few.

But I realized:
A, I don’t have the money
B. They would just get more
C. I don’t want to support TSC (at least mine, I know there are some good ones out there)
D. I can’t have any more chickens. I would love to have 100 chickens, but I know I probably wouldn’t be able to care for them well.

It was an awfully hard decision. And I hate to see animals in bad conditions. But there are hundreds of places like those, if not thousands. One or two ducklings saved isn’t going to make the biggest difference, even if it seems like it will “well, I just want at least that one to have a good life” runs through my head. But then again, I want all animals to be treated well. And especially if you don’t have the housing for more, or the time to care for more.

TSC is a load of crap. Their chicks gave mine coccidiosis and they all died. I tried to get Corid and nutri drench delivered and it said it would take 24 hours, and it still hasn't come (that was 2 weeks ago) We tried some natural remedies, hoping that the stuff would deliver soon. But it got to the point things were dropping dead fast and we had to just drive an hour to the store to get Corid, and they didn't even have nutri drench. It's about too late now tho because most of them are gone and we just have a couple of our older chicks left. But since we have the Corid, we're going to use it to prevent any future coccidiosis and NOT BUY CHICKS FROM TSC EVER AGAIN :(

Yes! I’ve never bought from them, but I asked them to take care of a dead chick in the brooder :)() and they never took care of it at least while I was there. One of the staff members wasn’t wearing a mask either, and this was before the vaccine thing.:(
