No....no number 2 yet. I've tried the mineral oil trick too. Btw, cotton balls are SO much easier than paper towels!! I think I may take her to the vet to make sure everything is in working order. Is it too young for purring?? I feel this vibration in her and am really worried about some formula getting into her lungs.
WILL be taking her to the vet today. I hear some sneezing, head shaking and saw runny eyes. It's possible she has an URI from when she was in the warehouse or it could be she is just fine. Better to not take the chance.
I was at work when they found them. Took a long lunch to get everything set up. The 4 hour feedings seem to be doing better for her.
Quick question:
I have her in a room with baby chicks of varying ages. At the moment she is sharing dome of the heat from the heat lamp but in her own crate. At what age can I stop the supplemental heat? The temp at my place is around 72*.
You are Awesome...sounds like the little one is definetly where she needs to be, there should be more caring people out there....hope all turns out well!!! Thanks for going above and beyond !!!! Praying and subscribing...!!! Have a wonderful day!!!
Great story! Very cute kittie and sounds like all is going well considering her rough start. Vet should be able to tell you alot, fix her nose and lungs and get her pooping. Nice job!
Names: Miracle is my first choice or Mira for short.
He said he didn't see anything to be worried about. Did a stool sample (I wasn't reaching far enough up there with the rectal thermometer) and it came back clean. He went ahead and wormed anyway.
When I told him about the runny eyes and slight sneezing he wasn't too concerned but we both decided to be safe and he gave me some amoxicillin to be given to her. (2 drops 1x per day) and told me to put about .5cc of Karo Syrup into her total meals to help things "move along".
He was surprised at how mobile she was and also said that she is undersized but is 2 weeks old. He said I was feeding her just right and to get some hard kibble and soak it in the formula and make a VERY watery mix. Give that to her to help and graduate from there to her lapping it up from a plate.
I asked about wet food and he said to work on the dry kibble food that's mixed with formula. It will be a bit better for her.
Is all this good info? I was really surprised how detailed he was and was interested in any questions I had.
