We're all hatchin'! Congrats, everyone!

Well...i woke up this morning and 9 of 10 have pipped. I had to leave for work...BAH!!! One of the holes is much larger than the others...I'm hoping to have surprises when I get home.

How many eggs do you have set and what type(s)? I heard some brief chirping a few minutes ago, but still no external pips. I figure they'll all pip and hatch this weekend while I'm hauling stuff over to the new house - just my luck!

Oh one more question, do you think the egg carton hatching method is good or do you let yours lay on the wire? I think it would be easier for the little peeps to get out if they were on their side rather than have to climb out of the top of the egg...?

I have mine in an egg carton, big side up... I figured this would be easier than having the eggs all rolling around while they're hatching...

And I have 9 eggs currently....4 for sure I was able to see veings and then embryos in, and the last day of candling, I saw movement in them... the others were too dark to see much besides an air bubble... so I'm not sure of their development.... They are EE eggs, and one is a mutt. The Mutt is one of the ones that for sure has devolopment inside, along with three other EE's

I have mine in an egg carton. This is my second hatch...the first one i just laid them on the wire, but they rolled all over the place. I had a good hatch rate just having them on the wire, but decided to try this method after reading good things about it, so far 9 out of 10 eggs have pipped. I hope they all make it out. I'll update you as to how it goes.

yeah I agree, I've had mine in the egg cartons since day 1, because I assumed they would roll around, and then after watching that live hatching feed last night, it was confirmed. The chicks that had hatched and were still in the bator were knocking the remaining eggs all OVER the place!!! it was crazy.
